Darren Clarke is one of the worlds’ best known golfers. He has a represented Europe on five occasions at The Ryder Cup. Most notably three weeks after the untimely death of his wife Heather, who finally lost her brave battle against breast cancer in August 2006. Darren was picked as one of the wild cards for The Ryder Cup at The K Club. Despite his grief, Clarke cheered on by the crowd, produced one of the most remarkable weekends in his golfing career; winning all three matches and helping Europe to victory.
Darren turned professional in 1990 and earned his first tour victory 3 years later at the Alfred Dunhill Open. He clinched his first PGA tour victory in 2000 at the WGC Match Play Championships event beating Tiger Woods in the final. Darren's career has since gone from strength to strength, winning 13 tour titles to date and continues to be a force in the European tour.
Darren is dedicated to raising money for breast cancer and awareness of the disease. He has also set up the Darren Clarke Foundation which focuses on the development of junior golf in Ireland and it also raises funds for Breast Cancer Awareness.
